Moving 2-Step Authentication to a New Device

Unable to Disable 2-Step Authentication.

Do you no longer have access to your old phone? Did you delete the authenticator app from your existing phone? You can use your security questions to log in and disable your existing 2-Step Authentication setup.

If you can’t answer your security questions, you’ll need to log a Support Request to get help. This will take some time and require multiple forms of ID.

Moving 2-Step Authentication to a New Device.

This process is for when you

  • Already use 2-Step Authentication to protect your PVC login.
    AND
  • You have changed your phone or mobile device.

If you haven’t started using 2-Step Authentication yet, go to our Setup 2-Step Authentication page.

You have to disable the authenticator on your old device before you can set up a new one. Make sure to hold onto your old device until this is complete!

When you set up your new authenticator, you can change to a different authenticator app if you choose. For example, you can move from Google Authenticator to Authy while you are switching devices.

You will need to reset your security questions and answers. You can use the same questions and answers or use different ones.
